About Dr Kerry Boyle

Kerry Boyle is a singing teacher, choral director, examiner, researcher and teaching consultant. Kerry studied Music and English at the University of Keele and was classically trained as a postgraduate performance student at Trinity College of Music and she worked as a professional singer, performing internationally before specialising in education. Kerry is involved in a range of ongoing research collaborations in areas including professional identity, careers in music and the nature of communication in instrumental and vocal teaching.

As a teacher and choral director Kerry has worked with singers of every age and ability and she co-ordinates and manages various international music projects and partnerships. She was also a teaching consultant on the MusicTeacher.co.uk Art of Teaching project. In addition to research and examining commitments, Kerry currently works as a lecturer, choral director and singing teacher at Canterbury Christ Church University, The Junior Kings School and Simon Langton Girls Grammar School and directs Canterbury Girls’ Choir, Canterbury Ladies Choir and The Canterbury Voices as part of her role as director of Canterbury Vocals. Kerry also manages the Canterbury Vocals Scholarship Fund for talented female musicians which provides financial support for local musicians and helps them to achieve their goals and ambitions in music.
